Brandon Shafikhani, Chief Executive Officer
Brandon Shafikhani is a U.S. Army Combat Veteran and CEO of Samaritan Protective Services. He founded SPS in 2015 with a desire to raise the bar for clients and the security industry. His extensive experience in risk management, domestic & global protective operations and intelligence has earned the trust of clients worldwide. As an experienced Protection Specialist, Mr. Shafikhani has led close protection operations for Fortune 100 executives, royals, international diplomats and high net-worth private individuals and families globally.
Mr. Shafikhani has a degree from American Military University in Counterterrorism and is a member of ASIS International. He is registered with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services as an Armed Personal Protection Specialist (PPS), Armed Security Officer, Private Investigator, and Firearms Instructor. Mr. Shafikhani is also a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and graduate of numerous Security and Executive Protection training programs nationwide.
MICAH JOHNSON

Micah Johnson, Chief Operating Officer
Micah Johnson has a proven record of security management, leadership and operational capability. He has led and coordinated countless mobile and static protective operations for elite clientele. He also serves as SPS’s lead security consultant for places of worship and the protection of at-risk religious figures.
Mr. Johnson has a degree in Speech Communications from Fayetteville State University and is registered with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services as an Armed Personal Protection Specialist (PPS). He is a recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award and the American Legion Post Commander’s Award.
MIKE PHEOBUS
VP-Protective Services
Mike Pheobus, VP-Protective Services
Mike Pheobus is a seasoned security professional and a decorated U.S. Army Combat Veteran. Mr. Pheobus has led countless protective operations, both privately and in support of U.S. Federal agencies, international diplomats and government officials. Mr. Pheobus has extensive knowledge and operational leadership experience in armored vehicle operations, protective intelligence, threat assessments, domestic and global protection operations. Mr. Pheobus also serves as SPS’ Incident Response Team (IRT) lead.
Mr. Pheobus has a degree from American Military University in Counterintelligence. He is registered with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services as an Armed Personal Protection Specialist (PPS) and Armed Security Officer. He is also a certified Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Specialist.
MATTHEW VANDERHAVEN
VP-Uniformed Services
Matthew Vanderhaven, VP-Uniformed Services
Matthew Vanderhaven has almost two decades of field and leadership experience in physical security and personnel management. His experience covers both private sector and government security operations, including extensive work with the Transportation Security Administration. Mr. Vanderhaven serves as Project Manager for numerous sites in support of SPS’s mission of providing excellent customer service.
Mr. Vanderhaven is registered with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services as an Armed Security Officer. He has multiple certifications and advanced training in first aid / CPR, baton, arrest authority, dispatch and secure mobile transportation operations including cash-in-transit. Mr. Vanderhaven is a proven professional that consistently provides leadership and security of personnel, property and information.
EMMANUEL WARE
Admin & Human Resources Manager
Emmanuel Ware, Admin & Human Resources Manager
Emmanuel Ware has almost a decade of experience in customer service, operational management and personnel actions. His extensive knowledge and awareness of compliance regulations is an asset to SPS clients and employees. Emmanuel manages day to day office duties, personnel, payroll and Human Resources functions.
Mr. Ware has a BA degree in Music Performance from Howard University. He has started the process and training to become registered with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services as an Armed Security Officer, furthering his commitment to the security industry.
